Where towering dunes meet a wild, protected coastline, adventure is hiding in plain sight. At Morukuru Ocean House in De Hoop Nature Reserve, Warren explores tidal rock pools teeming with marine life before swapping his walking shoes for a sandboard and racing down the dunes. He later joins field guide Jaco in the extraordinarily diverse fynbos, foraging for indigenous botanicals and tasting honey straight from the hive. The coast inspires a lavish local seafood pie topped with delicate potato "scales," while Morukuru's fynbos honey, wild rosemary and rooibos bring a distinctly South African character to Warren's silky crème caramel.

Episode 3: Kariega

Tracking one of Africa's greatest predators is only the beginning of Warren's journey through Kariega. Guided by Wayne, he learns to read the signs of the bush while searching for a pride of lions, before raising a sundowner above the reserve. Warren then discovers another powerful side of Kariega through its Foundation's Cradle to Career program, meeting the people creating opportunities for local young people through education and community support. Along the way, he prepares an indulgent bush breakfast pie and reinvents pasta alla vodka as Pasta alla Brandy - pairing South African brandy with chorizo and river prawns for a luxurious safari feast.

Suspended within the forest canopy, Tsala Treetop Lodge feels like a world conjured from a fairytale. Warren enters its joyful kitchen to learn Chef Etienne's signature Southern Cape lamb curry, a family recipe balancing sweet, sour and savoury flavours. Beyond the treetops, he visits a celebrated winery where horses play a surprising role in the estate, before venturing underground to explore the ancient caves of the Robberg Coastal Corridor. An iconic seaside favourite gets a sophisticated Cape Town makeover as Warren begins his journey through the Constantia Valley. At The Claremont, he joins Chef Leo to create an elevated fish and chips featuring kingklip, beef-tallow chips and basil-oil caviar. He then explores the historic Buitenverwachting Wine Estate, discovering the landscape, people and vines behind one of South Africa's celebrated wine regions. At Beau Constantia's Chefs Warehouse, Chef Ivor Jones introduces Warren to punchy, Southeast Asian-inspired plates. Finally, Cape Malay spice takes centre stage as Warren folds the flavours of traditional bobotie into crisp, golden puff-pastry samoosas.

Episode 6: Farmhouse 58 - Johannesburg

What if checking into a hotel could change the way you connect with yourself—and the land? At Farmhouse 58, Warren slows his pace through guided meditation and restorative wellness experiences beside a secluded waterfall. He then meets farmer Paul to explore the property's organic growing philosophy, harvesting herbs before participating in a mindful tea ceremony drawn directly from the veld. The farm's produce flows naturally into the kitchen, where Warren and Aidan create crispy chicken Cape Malay tacos wrapped in fresh roti. To finish, Warren turns freshly harvested eggplants into golden, crunchy schnitzels served with the kitchen's irresistible chilli oil.

Episode 7: The Swartland -  Bartholomeus Klip

On a private reserve in the Cape Winelands, some of South Africa's smallest creatures carry an enormous conservation story. At Bartholomeus Klip, Warren joins guide Esmeralda to search for the critically endangered geometric tortoise and learn about efforts to restore the once extinct Quagga. He then visits Kloovenburg, where a famous rugby union family has swapped the football fields for vineyards. Back at the lodge, Warren prepares comforting meatballs inspired by Bartholomeus Klip's celebrated country cooking. Among the orchard trees, he also joins Isabella to bake a fragrant almond cake crowned with poached pears—a fitting taste of this generous landscape.

Episode 8: Nambiti Hills

A routine morning in Nambiti becomes an extraordinary hands-on encounter with one of Africa's most endangered predators. Warren joins a conservation team as they tag and conduct health checks on a newly introduced pack of African wild dogs, witnessing the care required to return a fragile species to the landscape. The following morning, he heads out fishing with guide Joe before a game drive and breakfast stop in the bush. KwaZulu-Natal's bold flavours then take over: Warren makes a hearty chickpea bunny chow packed with spice, followed by sticky chilli-and-pineapple chicken wings cooked over the braai and served with traditional pap.

Episode 9: iSimangaliso Wetland Park - Kosi Forest Lodge

In the interconnected lakes of Kosi Bay, every journey carries the possibility of a wild encounter. Warren takes to the water with guide George, navigating past territorial hippos, meeting traditional fishers and snorkelling among the clear channels and mangroves. Later, he attempts canoeing before discovering the centuries-old craft of palm-wine making with a local producer. Inspired by recipes and ingredients shared along the way, Warren cooks a whole fish over the braai with a fiery peri-peri potato salad. For dessert, he folds the region's flavours into a warmly spiced apple, ginger and peanut pie celebrating this remote corner of KwaZulu-Natal.

Episode 10: Greater Kruger National Park - Royal Malewane

At Royal Malewane, Warren joins expert tracker Juan to follow the almost invisible trail of a rhinoceros and her calf through the Greater Kruger bush. He then meets the reserve's elite anti-poaching K-9 unit, learning how its remarkable dogs detect evidence and track suspects—before becoming their target in a dramatic training exercise. Warren celebrates South Africa's colourful Sunday-lunch tradition with a vibrant "Seven Colours" risotto made with samp. Finally, he brings dessert to a magical bush dinner: a milk-tart-inspired burnt Basque cheesecake served beneath the stars.
